Visualising science has always been a sophisticated task because statistics, scientific terms and abstract concepts are hard to present in pictures. Although there are many representations in science, a few intricate ones require precise detailing, as wrong interpretations could arise if misunderstood. Nevertheless, the pros of visualising science are conspicuous, either in comprehension or impact.

Why is Scientific Representation Difficult?

Like a graphical image, we cannot explain science through simple elements. Simple topics and subject matter can be understood with examples and anecdotes; however, this cannot be done with science. Science has its jargon, and subject matter is difficult to understand unless it is paired with preliminary topics. While it has been difficult to comprehend in text, visual representation has made it easy for experts and laymen alike.

Usually, visuals do not contain any expositors or methods unique to science. Visuals and images do the work of a brain that would otherwise require neurons to imagine when information is presented in text. When visuals are integrated, elements convey the information. Moreover, the depiction of visuals provides the inception without prior thinking.

Through observation, scientists can depict shapes and forms of scientific objects. These objects include microorganisms, plants, animals, minerals, cells, tissues, organs, astronomical bodies, and laboratory specimens that can be observed directly or through specialised instruments such as microscopes and telescopes.
